Portfolio Website Meets Google Meet

Mauhan M Zonoozy by Studio Vicine
What if your portfolio website didn’t actually look like a portfolio website?
Entrepreneur, exec, and artist Mauhan Zonoozy created a personal portfolio website with help from Vicine.
So what’s so special about this portfolio website?
It imitates a Google Meet window, giving visitors the feeling that they’re on a call with Mauhan. The site even asks for camera permissions, and familiar Meet icons are used for navigation. Instead of sharing your screen, you can share Mauhan’s portfolio on social media.
Why share this?
This portfolio is novel and attention-grabbing. While not necessarily something to rely on for every career move, it’s a bold way to make a big impression. Mauhan appears to be starting a new chapter where press coverage could amplify outcomes for future projects.

5 Portfolio Mistakes Every New Designer Makes

Over the last couple of years, I have reviewed over 150 portfolio websites. I’m also working on an e-book outlining the 10 mistakes I see every designer make.
Here are five of those mistakes:
No Goal in Mind: Many portfolios act as archives of completed projects, lacking details about the projects and the designer.
Hiding Personality: Your portfolio should reflect your personality, style, and taste.
No Visual Spice: Avoid using the same 5 typefaces and colors repeatedly.
Showing Too Much: Limit to 3-4 of your best projects.
No Context: Your portfolio cannot just be images; visitors need to understand your thought process.
This is a preview of the mistakes I’ll cover in the e-book.
If you want to be the first to receive this e-book for free and review it, just reply.
PS. Sorry for the delay on this edition!
