This week's Creative Juice features a Swiss wonderland, a new set of wheels, and literal illustrations that will make you laugh.

Creative Juice is a weekly newsletter published every Monday morning so you can start your week feeling inspired creatively to make cool sh*t and get paid for it. Every Monday I share something gorgeous, a portfolio of the week, three creative finds, one amazing post from social media, and one lesson I learned recently.

Portfolio of the Week

A Stretching Portfolio Website

Tanya Tikhonova

Tanya Tikhonova

This isn't the usual portfolio website I share here in Creative Juice. Tanya is a Yoga instructor offering online classes for all levels. The design and layout of her website grabbed my attention as she does a great job walking visitors through the process of her services and how they can work with her. This is approach is something I wish I saw applied more to portfolio websites of designers and creatives.

Apex Wheels Brand Design by Asis

A beautiful bold typographic rebrand for Apex Wheels by Argentinian design studio Asis. The custom typeface is an amalgamation of Avante Garde, Kabel, Serif Gothic, and Busorama. The project evokes the classic racing era with a modern approach to the messaging and printed materials.

PimpMyTrip Social Art Direction by Studio Impulso

PimpMyTrip Social Art Direction by Studio Impulso

Studio Impulso built a rich and colorful social universe for tourism app PimpMyTrip. This is a great example for anyone that focuses on design for social media of any kind. I love how they extended the brand language across all the different formats for social media.

One Lesson

The Design Market is Shifting

The Design Market is Shifting

Last week I sent a note out asking what you are struggling with. I received a bunch of responses but majority was around finding/landing job opportunities.

I am seeing a few things happening right now...
- Companies/clients are looking for creative ways to get as much value out of their budgets.
- Service providers are shifting to always-on subscriptions models.
- The new "hot" industry is shifting towards anything and everything Ai/Tech.
- The current job market is competitive.

What does this mean?
Personally I have been doing a lot of thinking around my career as a designer. I have been a graphic designer for 10 years now. The last 2 years have consisted of creating more social content around growing your portfolio as well ass focusing on my own personal design practice. With that said I have made the decision to finish off my current client projects to then focus on creating my own product. My hope is to connect creatives with new emerging job opportunities. I have felt pretty stagnant the last couple of months and shifting my energy towards a new project feels like the right move.

More to come soon...
